Milford Class of ’79 – National Guard Memorial Project
September 2019 marked the 40th anniversary of a tragedy that forever changed the course of Milford High School and the surrounding east-side communities. That year, four young men tragically lost their lives in an Army National Guard helicopter accident. Their helicopter crashed on September 29th near Price Rd a mile from Paxton Ramsey Park. Just like that, all the promise these young men had ahead of them was gone. Their commitment to serve and protect became their final act.
Thank you for helping us honor these Hero’s and their families! The east-side communities have a long and proud tradition of never forgetting our Heros who died in the service of our country. Through your generosity, the Loveland Legacy Foundation was honored to help support the establishment of memorial to honor Capt. James E. Capps, Capt. Paul F. Edgar Jr, S/Sgt Wayman Nixon Jr. and S/Sgt Alan K. Piatt and their selfless commitment to our communities.
The addition of a memorial stone and four park benches was celebrated by friends, family, and classmates and are available for your use and enjoyment in the park today.
